I reckon we should see the return of Project 86 for Easterfest 2010. Either that or Demon Hunter or Maylene & the Sons of Disaster. That is all, kthxbye.

My stand outs to Easterfest 09 were… Paul Colman Trio, Audio Adrenaline, Naturally 7 and Christopher Wayne!!

hey scotty
i think the problem is answered by you being in the fount row, think about it this way, the speakers have to be loud enough to be heard right at the back of the tent, so it has to be at a pretty decent level, being right up the fount means your in the loudest spot. so it is likely the bass will be overwhelming up the fount.
kinda like turning up your home stero full pelt. it sounds awesome throughtout the house but if you stick your head right next to it, not only is it really loud but pretty much all you can hear is the dominating noise (in most music this is bass)
so it means you have to make a hard choice , eater stand right up the fount see the band close, or stand about half way back and get full sound quality.
i think the worce case for me at easterfest was when Petra played, the kind of music they play has a very heavy base line. it was basing out so much it was starting to hurt, so i moved back about 20 meters and it sounded awesome (one of my easterfest highlights)
but i must admit the overall mix was a tad loud for TFK, but hey you know what they say if its to loud your to old

ok, so I agree with Scott.
The sound for TFK, was pretty average. The guitars were quiet, but the vocals were even worse and the over all mix was bit muddy.
Shaz, I was standing right at the front of the sound desk which is where they set the mix to make it sound good from there. Aside from that, any good sound tech should be going to various places of the venue/stage area to gauge how it is sounding in different areas, with differing crowd density and wind interferance the sound can change dramatically.
I have been waiting a LONG time for TFK to come to Aussie, since I got their self released album “Set It Off” in 2001 and the mix kinda put a good dampener on it for me and some of the other people that were there with me. Although I saw them in NZ a few years back I was in antisipation for this show, as they promised me when I got to speak to them that they were gonna play some of the truely old stuff! They were fantastic then.
Well thats my feeling about it. It has been on my mind since the weekend.
Thanks Pete

i was standing half way back in the tent and the sound was pretty good back there, i think you’ll find standing so close the sound isnt that great.

Does anyone else think the bass was WAY too loud and the guitar was way too soft for Thousand Foot Krutch in the big top? It was also the same fr Pillar and Jael the year before. Is there anywhere where we could write a letter or something addressing it if enough people felt it was a bit off? Couldn’t even hear the guitar riffs myself, but I was front row

We had a wonderful second year experience of being at Easterfest 2009 with friends, [and with our son Renton who works at maccas twba as a manager and LOVES TCC to worship with fellow believers]… as well as enjoying the Empire production with regard to the true meaning of this total event.
My wife Kory and my youngest son Brent have been involved as musicians in presenting the Easter message in Roma with the Easter float with the combined churches for many years.
One may say that while it is fullfilling to participate and ‘play before thousands’ that it is as enjoyable to participate with the thousands to enjoy your artists in worship.
