For those long time Easterfest’ers who know how it all works - here are a couple of things that have changed for Easterfest 09!

• Mobile phone charging - this year you will be able to check in your mobile phone & charger at Information in the Pavilion for a minimal fee & we will watch over it while it has its fill of power. Information is open from 8am to midnight every day of the festival so be sure to pick it back up again before then or you won’t see it again until the following day & we know you couldn’t possibly live with that!

• Cooking in Queen’s Park campsite - Toowoomba Regional Council takes the safety of our patrons while at the festival very seriously and has asked us to no longer allow festival goers to bring their own gas or butane cooking equipment to the festival. To facilitate this Easterfest will be seriously ramping up the quality and facilities to be found at the two camp cooking areas with more shelter, more hot water, more BBQs, more burners - pretty much just MORE! Unfortunately we will have to confiscate any gas or butane bottles brought into the campsite for the duration of the weekend so PLEASE try to remember to leave that stuff at home this year!

• Ticketed & free festival precincts - we have created a new precinct called the East Wing for 2009 which will combine a specked up version of the already awesome Epicentre Stage, YWAM Chai Circle, Easterfest Kids (previously Kidz Island) plus our main food court and many of our show rides. The East Wing will be a ticketed precinct so you will need a 3-day or single day pass to gain access at any time during the festival. The festival will still have a whole lot that you won’t need a ticket to get to including our amazing entry Pavilion containing our main expo, the Superstore and the SU Café Stage plus Compassion, a better than ever Lounge venue with great coffee and the Saturday street festival.

• Venue name changes - to save you any confusion you may want to take notice of some venue name changes in 2009. With a whole new amazing but non-water related theme in 2009 we have decided to rename Kidz Island to Easterfest Kids. With the growing involvement of the Shed Blokes at the festival we have also renamed the venue formerly known as The Shed to now be called the Alley Stage - but don’t worry everything you love about it will stay the same or be better than ever!
